Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I pay for coaching?
Hiring a running coach is certainly an investment. However, for runners who desire to become stronger, faster and better, the experience and knowledge of a running coach is invaluable. Having a coach takes the stress out of planning your runs and allows you to focus on the part we all love--running. A good coach provides motivation, encouragement, advice, and accountability and is invested in your success. A coach can provide that objective, honest, outside perspective on your training that keeps you from doing too much and also challenges you to do more. A coach will also help you incorporate the ancillary but important routines that help to avoid injuries. Go here to check out what some of our runners have said about Run with Endurance Coaching!
How do I know which option is right for me?
The training plan option is perfect for the experienced, self-motivated runner who likes to follow a plan. We can help you determine the ideal length of your training based on your current fitness, goals and goal race distance. Coaching, on the other hand, is much more personal--you are in regular contact with your coach who plans your workouts and paces, is there to adjust workouts as needed, assists with goal planning and race day planning, answers questions, motivates and supports you through your training and racing.
I'm thinking about buying a custom plan, how do I know how many training weeks to choose?
Contact us and we will help you figure out what is best for you. Generally, we recommend no less than 8 weeks for 5k-10k or base building training, 12 weeks for half-marathon training and 16-20 weeks for marathon training.
Do you run with me?
All of our coaching is "virtual" which means it is delivered in an online format for you to implement. Don't let that worry you! Your training plan will contain your daily workouts and training paces, so you'll always know exactly what you need to do on your run. Once your run is logged in, your coach is able to review it and provide feedback. You'll also be in communication with your coach throughout your training, so you will never be "alone". If you would like some one-on-one running time with a coach, please consider adding on a By-the-Hour Coaching option.
